The veteran country music star, Toby Keith seems to be “too political” for a country music festival in Naperville after his performance at President Trump’s inauguration, IJR reports.
A country music festival in Naperville, Illinois might regret inviting Toby Keith to perform a concert. Keith who is best known for hits such as “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American),” may soon be an even angrier American.
Fox News reported that a country music festival in Naperville, Ill. is facing pressure to kick Toby Keith out of their lineup after some residents categorized the country singer as too political after his performance at President Trump’s inauguration. Keith who did not support any candidate in the 2016 presidential election said that he does not apologize for performing for the country or military.
According to Fox News, the music festival defended its decision to include Toby Keith in its lineup posted on Facebook that Ribfest talent is negotiated and selected months in advance of the event and at no time Exchange Club of Naperville makes any political statement or endorsement. Also at no time are artists booked based on their political beliefs or actions.
The country music star defended himself and his decision in a statement to EW, saying that he does not apologize for performing for our country or military and he had performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.
It is sad that people are unable to see the divergence between entertainment and politics. Nobody asked for Toby Keith to be dropped from concerts for performing for George W. Bush or Barack Obama. It seems like Lefts are constantly complaining about any celebrity who actually shows respect for the President, which is sad and pathetic.
