Mayor Rahm Emanuel has warned Democrats they need to realize that they are not going to take back national power soon and just take a “chill pill”, World News Politics reports.
On Monday at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, Emanuel said that it ain’t gonna happen in 2018 and Democrats should take a chill pill because they are going to be in this for the long haul.
Emanuel also explained that his party needs to start putting moderate candidates such as veterans, football players, sheriffs and business people up in Republican districts, pick battles with Republicans, exploit wedges within the GOP and fight attempts to redistrict Congress on partisan grounds.
The Mayor did not hesitate his frustration with some of his fellow Democrats and mocked Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer. He said that winning is everything and without winning, nobody can make the public policy. He also added that sometimes it is all about the winning. Party like to be right even if they lose.
Emanuel concluded that he can’t stand moral victory speeches and he has never lost an election because it is all about the winning. He mocked Clinton by saying that if somebody loses, all he/she can do is write a book about what happened.
